Manchester United are optimistic that player sales this summer could fully fund the club’s top-priority midfield signing, with outgoing transfers expected to generate between £80m and £90m.
That would allow the bulk of the transfer budget to be focused on strengthening other key areas like central midfielder, left winger, centre-back or full-back.
