There is only one Premier League fixture expected on Boxing Day this year.
A break from tradition, the change stems from fixture congestion caused by UEFA competition expansion and the FA Cup’s move to weekends.
The league must still deliver 33 weekends of fixtures to broadcasters.
While not yet confirmed, Boxing Day will likely feature a single televised game, with the rest played across Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to meet scheduling obligations.
